Description
Indicated for use with patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass or autotransfusion procedures, CardioMed’s cardiotomy reservoirs have been designed to collect, filter and store blood aspirated during surgery or trauma.
Engineered to maximize effectiveness, and minimize hemolysis, this device features:
- A smooth interior wall design which creates a gentle inlet flow path and reduces turbulence
- A maximum rated blood flow of 6 litres per minute and a maximum volume capacity of 4,000 ml
- A built-in micro filter with integral positive and negative relief valves
- 3 luer ports which facilitate priming blood administration
- 4 horizontal blood inlets which control blood in-flow
- A premium quality filter made of USP class VI silicone-treated polyester
- A 1/4” vacuum line connector port which also allows venting if required
- 2 – 3/8” vertical inlets for convenient conversion to post-operative chest drainage collection or rapid fluid delivery if required
- A 3/8” outlet drain port which keeps residual blood at a minimum
Reservoirs include the following:

- 1 – 3/8” outlet drain port
- 3 – luer ports
